Becker Cemetery, Becker, Minnesota

The cemetery in Becker, MN is large and flat, and has over 1,200 graves dating from 1867 to the present. To be honest there’s not a lot of interesting stones in terms of something that’s cool looking, or something that’s ornate. The markers there are very much like any average marker you’d find in the midwest.

The oldest stones are limestone with typical motifs that include weeping willows, hands with the index finger pointing to heaven, hands clasped, and the like. The stones from the 20s are grey granite, the stones from the 40s are red granite, the modern stones are black granite.

This one caught my eye, though. It’s the only one with a barrier surrounding it, and the font on the stone is pretty cool.

I can’t find any information about Osian Stiles, but he died way too young.
