My name is Muggsy Lauer. That's not my real name, but it's the name my mother dubbed me when I was three years old, so that's what I go by. My real name is unimportant unless you are going to write me a check.
I play guitar and sing. I love many kinds of music, but my soul is in jazz. I am a part of several different musical organizations including Collective Unconscious, Monday Night Jazz, The George Maurer Group, and a few others such as an Eagles tribute with the Fabulous Armadillos. And there's this little thing we do in February. When I have the time, I like to record music at home.
My hobby is what I call cemetery crawling. I enjoy visiting cemeteries and graveyards of all sizes. I've driven miles of dirt road to see the resting places of a couple dozen complete strangers. I am fascinated by the history, the artwork, and the burial ritual. Those buried were real people with lives and loves and losses, and they deserve a little visit now and then.
I roast coffee as my day job, and have been running Muggsy's Beans since 2006.
I love cats. I love to cook. And I love my wife. Not in that order.
